Our art showcases diverse characters from towns, cities, and rural regions across Great Britain.
Each character, drawn from Jai Sol's real-life experiences, possesses a unique personality and story. Some face tragedy, others long for change, and many simply live their best lives authentically with authenticity, emotion, and a touch of humour.
Over 2024 we invite our online community to contribute to Art Britannia art with ideas so together we create fun, authentic art that relates, resonate and can inspire the world.
PEOPLE
At the heart of our artworks are people, personalities, and characters who have all matured in body and yet are experiencing a range of thoughts, emotions and desires that may help them in their journey.
Each character is on the brink of a transformation and wants guidance from our audiences to help them achieve it and record it as art.
CULTURE
Our characters originate from across the social spectrum, from working-class to upper-class, offering glimpses into their professions, joys, challenges, daily routines, humour, and experiences with the weather.
Our artworks also encapsulate various cultural facets, including food, music, fashion, sports, family events, and values.Technology, interiors, and popular culture elements are intricately woven into the depictions, reflecting the era-specific contexts.
HUMOUR
We embrace British humour to bring our characters to life. Wit and irony is woven into our art & descriptions. Sarcasm and understatement turn mundane scenes into comedic treasures. Through satire, we critique politics, and convey daily life, banter, innuendo, and even a nod to the British class system.
Embracing the macabre and humor in embarrassment, our collection celebrates the ordinary with a distinctive British flair, inviting viewers to share in the joy of our characters' experiences.
COLLABORATION
We will be using Instagram and other platforms to convey the stories of our characters in the form of art, images, behind-the-scenes and descriptions. We aim to engage with people and form an online community.
Once all 42 characters are introduced, we will welcome fans of Art Britannia to express their views, ideas and thoughts about the art and offer ideas and concepts for the second artwork of each character. Our artist with the help of our team will collate ideas and create art for the next drop that our fans have helped to inspire.
ART DROPS
In 2024 we will create art depicting 42 British characters. Our first Art Drop - Online & Print Release - will consist of 21 artworks that introduce half of our characters with edition prints made available to buy over 2 weeks.
As part of this Art drop, we will request that our audience on social media to help create the narrative, evolution or transformation of our first 21 characters. Once created the new pieces will feature in our second drop. Successive drops will offer a further 21 artworks. We want our community to contribute to Art Britannia, and together we create fun, authentic art that harbours stories that relate, resonate and can inspire people.
PRINTS
